You'll create a new layer each time you do this, so you'll need to delete the old layer each time. Adjust the words by free-rotating the top layer, if need be.Go back to the Paths tab and right-click->delete both of them.Use a paint brush, gradient, or whatever to color this uppermost layer, which should be only your letters.Make sure Transparency is selected, then click OK. Text wrap is also referred to as runaround text. The object that text wraps around is called the wrap object. When you apply a text wrap to an object, InDesign creates a boundary around the object that repels text. When you're happy with the text size/placement, go to the Paths tab and right click on the one that has your words in it. You can wrap text around any object, including text frames, imported images, and objects you draw in InDesign. You can rotate the text later it just needs to be distributed around the circle correctly for now. Most likely, you will need to ctrl+z and adjust the size of your font, then click "Text along Path" again. To test placement, click "Text along Path" (should be in the tool options of the text tool).Text tool -> type your text (the box where it appears on the image must be long enough so it does NOT wrap).Use circle selection tool to make your circle. I have 2 DIV's as shown below and I've been trying to get the text between the two circles to wrap around the inner circle as shown on the attacthed image.

We can easily extend this trick to consider different shapes. Aligned with the plane object center (not the geometry) add an empty object and rotate it -30 about the Z axis. With our font, font size and text color selected, we can add our text, and we want to add it so that it follows along the circular path weve created. In Edit Mode move about the Y axis the distance of your clock radius. Beginning with a smaller circle will make a narrower cylinder with less extrusion. We adjust the radius of the circle using the variable p to simulate padding with the visual circle created by box. This relatively automated method places them automatically. Assuming youve already created your text and made it into a symbol.

The red element floating to the left will have half a circle on its right and the blue one will simply have the opposite. Below an illustration to better understand Two floating elements covering the whole div (full height and half width for each one) where we apply shape-outside to create half a circle inside each one. I said "visual" because it's not the one that will make our text wrap around. Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen modeĪ basic div element having width=height and border-radius:50% to create a visual circle.
